Pianonome (http://pianonome.com) Piano-learning platform for iPad and iPhone; helps user develop more efficient piano practice sessions; uses built-in microphone; listens to playing and tells what notes were played wrong and/or out of tempo; upload books or pieces to the platform or download them from app library; must tune app to user’s piano; includes 40 scores; Practicing mode and Evaluation mode; in practice mode can click pause button and correct notes then proceed; correctly played notes are colored in blue and mistakes are colored in red; rhythmic unevenness is marked with a blue square; in evaluation mode notes appear on the screen and the last correctly played note is colored in blue; integrated metronome provides visual and audible tempo cues; for iPhones, will need headsets for the audible metronome; for iPad, headsets are optional for using the audible metronome; practice room must be quiet while tuning app and practicing as background noise will degrade the quality of note detection; website includes short video clips explaining how to use the app; (iOS 9.0 or later).
